Transforming insights and references into structured visual concepts that define the project’s identity.
Building the Direction is where the project starts to take visual form. Using everything gathered so far — the vision, the feeling, the references, and the insights — I begin creating early concepts that outline how the final design could look. These concepts explore typography, colour, layout, spacing, and structure, giving shape to the identity we’re building.
This stage is creative and exploratory. Concepts aren’t meant to be perfect; they’re meant to show possibilities. I experiment with different approaches, refine ideas, and test how various elements work together. The goal is to create visual routes that feel authentic, intentional, and aligned with the project’s purpose.
Once the concepts are ready, they’re presented clearly so you can see the direction taking shape. Feedback is welcomed here — it helps refine the path and ensures the chosen direction feels right. By the end of this stage, we have a defined visual direction ready to be crafted into a polished design.
